AMY BISHOP
Amy Bishop started her creative endeavors 15 years ago with a 35mm camera purchased in a pawn shop in Austin, Texas. Despite her inability to understand anything about the camera other than the F-stop she began capturing the hidden beauty of Cedar County Iowa.
“Everything and everyone around us has a story to tell. I use a camera to help me “hear” these stories. Through photography I can share what I hear through the filter of my own perspective. Often in the re-telling of these stories, some of my own story is revealed”
Always wanting to display her photographs in a non-traditional format she ventured into the world of mixed media. There she found unlimited opportunities that allowed her to share her love of photography as well as the courage to create art without it.
